JobsDB has released its "2023 Salary Survey Report," revealing that the average salary increase for Hong Kong employees is 4.1%, the highest in three years. The highest salary increases were observed in the fields of data analysis, digital marketing/e-commerce/social media, and information technology, with the highest increase reaching 9.7%. The survey was conducted between February and March of this year and included nearly 3,800 respondents. Over 60% of respondents received a salary increase, with an average increase of 4.1%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points from last year's 3.2%. While this still has not returned to pre-pandemic levels, it is the highest increase in three years.

The survey also found that employees in the field of data analysis received the highest salary increase, reaching 9.7%. Following that were employees in digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media, with a salary increase of 7.3%, and then employees in information technology, with a salary increase of 6.6%. In terms of years of work experience, respondents with 3-5 years of experience received the highest salary increase, reaching 6.3%. This was followed by those with 0-2 years and 6-10 years of experience, with salary increases of 5.2% and 4.8%, respectively. In terms of age, respondents aged 26-30 received the highest salary increase, followed closely by those aged 25 or below.

In addition to salary, many employees also place a high value on work-life balance. The survey found that nearly 70% of respondents hoped that their employers would implement a 4-4.5 day work week, but only around 25% of respondents said their companies had already done so. Additionally, half of the respondents hoped for flexible working hours, while approximately 34% said their companies had already implemented them.
